Memorial Weekend Cruise - Port Canaveral
Cape Marina
2026-05-23 15:00 – 2026-05-25 9:00
Plan ahead now for the ever-popular Memorial Day Weekend Cruise to Port Canaveral.   We are changing the location for the Memorial Day Cruise back to the marinas at the port. In the past, the club had anchored out at the fourth island in the Banana River and we thought we would return to that tradition but a recent island survey showed that time and tide has taken its toll on the islands and we found they are no longer suitable for an island party cook out. Hosts Steve and Chiz have checked with Cape Marina and The Ocean Club and were told there are still slips available but making reservations ASAP is recommended. The plan is to sail in on Saturday and have a cook out at the Cape Marina pavilion in the evening. Sunday morning brunch will be served on Chesire with ocean sailing in the afternoon for those interested. Those not going out can lounge around the marina pool. Sunday night is open for dinner but there will probably be some heading out to a local restaurant, we’ll send out an email if a plan comes together. Monday will be time to head home or stay another day to avoid boat traffic. Information about bridges and Locks can be found both in the ECSA Cruising Guide, and in the directory.  Please check the schedule to plan your cruise.

Summer Sailstice Cruise - Saturday, June 20-21, 2026
Grills Riverside Seafood Deck & Tiki Bar
2026-06-20 10:00 – 2026-06-21 12:00
Please join us at Grills Riverside in Melbourne for the annual Summer Sailstice Cruise. The Summer Sailstice is an annual celebration of sailing which is held on the weekend closest to the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. There are hundreds of sailing gatherings during this weekend throughout the northern hemisphere (sorry you folks "down under", enjoy your winter!) This event gives you a perfect excuse to invite your family, friends and neighbors for a day on the water and introduce them to sailing, and perhaps the club. The cruise is planned for Saturday-Sunday June 20-21 at Grills Riverside Seafood Deck and Tiki Bar. We will meet on Saturday at the beach bar area for Happy Hour at 5:00 p.m. with dinner at 6:00 p.m. Although Grills has floating docks with about 6 feet of depth, there are shallower areas between the channel and the restaurant which rise up to about 4 feet of depth.  So vessels drawing more than 4 feet are advised to anchor east of these shoal areas.  The docks are in excellent shape, so everyone should be able to tie up dinghies easily. For landlubbers, or in case of inclement weather, the address is 6075 North US Hwy 1, Melbourne, FL 32940. There is no planned breakfast Sunday morning so you’re on your own if spending the night on the hook. Grills does serve breakfast every day beginning at 7 a.m., so that is always an option. Please, don’t forget to RSVP by signing up for  FREE tickets online at our website, as we need to give the restaurant a headcount. CHuck and Mavis Harnden will be our hosts for this event so please contact them if you have any questions: rearcommodore@ecsasail.com.
