Labor Day Cape Canaveral / Banana River Cruise
If you have never been on this cruise before, we anchor in the Banana River, fourth island north of the Port Canaveral locks. Lat/Lon is approximately: 28 deg 2.5 min N, 80 deg 38.55 min W.
Please let us know if you plan on attending and when you plan to arrive so we can get the right amount of food. We will be in need of firewood, so if you can, please bring some.
The Labor Day Cruise Itinerary
Friday, August 29th
For this night, things are laid back as boats arrive and anchor for the weekend. We plan to have on open grill for anyone who wants to grill their dinner.
Saturday, August 30th
Boats will continue to arrive and everyone will be on their own for breakfast and lunch. Saturday afternoon attendees can participate in a Survivor challenge. Saturday evening - dinner will be around 6 p.m. We will be treated to a Caribbean themed main entree with potluck sides. BYOB. All meals will be announced by the sound of the conch shell. Following dinner we will be having a fire with for roasting marshmallows and s’mores. (P.S. Don't forget to bring your own chairs to gather about on the island).
Sunday, August 31st
Sleep in a little and join us for a Southern breakfast on the beach at 9:00 a.m. Potluck as usual and Ken will be cooking up a kettle of sausage gravy to go over biscuits. Any coffee in decanters would be appreciated as there is no electricity on the beach. Following breakfast and weather permitting, some may go for a little offshore sail. Lunch on your own. For dinner, Chef Ken will be grilling hot dogs and hamburgers with potluck sides provided by all. Another fire as well.
Monday, September 1st
We will meet once again for a light breakfast of potluck goodies, pastries and whatever we have left, once again any coffee will be appreciated. A short cleanup time and then departure of the fleet or hangout if you like.
